Bologna Oh Bologna Notes #6
Oke, now that the presentation materials are done, we
move on to take care of other stuffs. What other stuffs? I actually don’t
really know. I have never been sent to Bologna before. I have never been sent
to any other overseas book fair before. In fact the only book fairs that I had
been to are Jakarta and Indonesia book fairs. I’m really really what you call
“dusun” :).
Thank God IKAPI held a socialization session in their
building and I was inviting to this session.
In the session, I learned a few things:
1. I
will give my talk in the Indonesia stand (Pad 29 stand A/29). (I suddenly feel
nervous :))
2. The
temperature there ranges between 4 to 14 degrees Celcius. (I suddenly feel cold
:))
3. It
will take almost 20hours to fly to Bologna.
(I suddenly feel tired :))
4. All
the other exhibitors will try to sell their books. Hence, I will be trying to
sell to someone who is also trying to sell. (I suddenly feel confused :))
5. To
make the trip more fruitful, we have to make appointment with as many
publishers as possible before we go there. If we only ask for an appointment
after we arrive there, we won’t get any because all of their schedules will be
fully booked. (I suddenly feel anxious :))
At the end of the day, we were to surrender our passports
to start the process of visa application.
So… first thing first… 4 to 14 degrees Celcius? Do you
know that I only have 1 pair of sandal that I wear every day and 1 other more
formal pair of shoes that I haven’t seen in more than a year. And neither one
of them covers my toes. So It’s time to find a pair of boots that I can borrow.
I didn’t have to look very far. My mom has one! Attached
are the boots and they fit me perfectly and for a while I felt like a
Cinderella :).
Will show you my other cold fighting gears tomorrow! :)
